Alaska Standards Based Assessment

The girls had to do test of basic skills at school this year. They both did really well. Carlyna did exceptionally well and I am so going to brag right now!!!!
Reading Average is 300....she got 432
Writing Average is 300....she got 512
Mathematics Average is 300..she got 403
She came in way advanced on everything, and she even got 100% on some. I wish I had her ability at that age. She is brilliant and talented and has the biggest heart of any kid I know, I am SOOOOO PROUD SHE IS MINE!!!!!
I am very proud of Caitlyn as well don't get me wrong, she is going to be my Vet, her love of animals is so pure. She did average, 313 and 320 on Reading and Mathematics, but struggled on Writing with a score of 279. I am still so proud of her. If she had had a teacher that would have LISTENED to me this year she would have been tested for Dyslexia, which I truely believe she has. She leaves all(at least most) vowels out of words when writing and sounding out. She gets so frustrated, but is still a trooper. The colored paper layover helps her a lot. Her color seems to be blue. Cailtyn and Tryston are both doing summer school, they just started Monday. I am going to go talk to this teacher and see what she is observing with her reading and writing, and if She doesn't listen... it is game on next year. My child DOES NOT GET IGNORED!!!!! Just ask my family... I fight for my kids!!! The down fall with Cailtyn this past year was she did get over looked somewhat, due to her no responsive teacher, our divorce and discovering what Tryston had and fighting for his IEP and praying he didn't have to repeat Kindergarten again. With his meds he is doing so much better, he does go on to 1st grade next year, but he still is struggling and will unfortunatly, but nessessarily, spent 50% of the day with his special ed teacher and 50% with his class. Isaiah starts Kindergarten and he to has an IEP for speech and is so focused on building...he lacks the ability to learn ABC's and 123's...cause he DOESN'T CARE. He is truely going to be an Architect, if he ever decides to learn. He is 100% happy if he has his digger, his dumper, and things to build with, he is a very simple child. I am proud of all my kids!!!!!!! They are all unique and I love that about all of them. MUSHY MOM MOMENT!!!!

Good job with your state testing girls! These were the tests I would score like a 14 on, right?! I was telling Maree I was so proud of her for reading at a 4th grade level, I even admitted to her that in 1st grade I still couldnt read at all!
Are there meds of Isaiah's issue, like candy ones as rewards? :-)
Good Job Girls!!

I hate testing children! So many kids freeze up (like I did!) and it's no real measure of intelligence!
